Aravind Adiga was born in Madras India in 1974. A native of India, Adiga was also raised in Australia. He studied English literature at Columbia and Oxford Universities.
Adiga is a former correspondent for TIME Magazine and has contributed writing to The Financial Times, The Independent, and The Sunday Times. Adiga won won the Man Booker Prize in 2008 for his novel, The White Tiger. The Man Booker prize is awarded to the book judged to be the best fiction book of the year written by a citizen of the British Commonwealth or Ireland.
