Mathematicians!

A guide to exploring great mathematicians throughout history.

Using a Library Database

What is a library database?

Library databases are parts of the library collection that live online. Like websites, they can be accessed anywhere, anytime. Unlike websites, they all provide access to information in a way that is strategically designed to help information seekers and usually provide access to information that is not accessible on the free web. As a Perkiomen student, you have access to these resources through your library.

Searching a library database

While you can enter search terms in a database search field as you would using a search engine like Google, you will get better results if you put some extra thought into your query (a fancy word for what we type into the search field). Also, databases have tools and features to help you broaden or narrow your search results.

Using databases off campus

Since library databases are part of the library collection, that means they can't be accessed off campus without passwords unique to our school. You will find these on the portal in the Library Services social group, in the Resources folder.
