Library Services FAQ

Where is the library?

Perkiomen School has two library spaces on campus - there is our historic Carnegie Library building, which also houses our Learning Center and Innovation Center, and there is the Nallo Center which is located in the Middle School.

How can I find out what you have?

We are on the portal! Look under "Social Groups" for Library Services. Links to everything can be found there. All students, faculty, and staff have access.

Our catalog, Destiny, is online here:

Also, our Resource Guides, including links to online databases, can be found by clicking Resource Guides at the top of this page.

We also have a digital library of eBooks and audiobooks available on mobile devices using the Sora app. These are listed in the catalog, or browse in Sora. Sign in using your school network login.

What's happening in the library?

We send out email newsletters to the school community, and you can follow us on Instagram @perklibrary. There is always something new!

How to Work with Library Services

The Library Services program is an instructional and curricular department as much as a collection of resources and physical space. Our subject is the research process! It's our job to work with you to help our students be effective as finders, users, and creators of information. Here's how you can help us help you!

  1. Loop me in from the beginning - when you are planning a unit or project, we can help you work in relevant scaffolded information literacy instruction and develop authentic assessments.
  2. Schedule lessons and collaborative planning sessions Think we're too busy to meet with you, or visit your class? That's why we're here! We have no problem staying busy in the meantime, but when you call, we are at your (and your students') service!
  3. Let us work with your classes early and often through the process - A multi-lesson arc in the context of the students' inquiry process is more effective than a one-shot "library lesson" at the beginning.
  4. Professional development - we teach practical skills and dispositions that are applicable across students' information needs - academic, social, and personal. Our tools and strategies can help you "up your game" too - and we are eager to learn from you in return. We welcome your input and active participation - let's work together for our students!
  5. Contact us - If you want to send individual students or small groups to the library to complete a specific task, please contact us in advance. The library spaces are available to the community throughout the day, when not in use by a class. Also, if we know what they're looking for or working on, we can provide better help!
  6. Make recommendations Have a book, database, other resource that you would like to use in your instruction? Send your recommendation our way!
