AP Summer Reading and Assignments

The summer assignments for AP courses will be organized below by department. Updates are still in progress. If you are unsure about the expectations for AP summer work, contact the teacher or Mr. Moser.

AP Art History Summer Work
DUE: First week of school
READ:

CREATE:

  • Choose one work of art from any media from each of the following time periods
    • Prehistoric through Medieval
    • Renaissance and Baroque
    • The Twentieth Century: Modern Art
    • The Twentieth Century and Beyond: Contemporary Art
  • Choose high-resolution images of your chosen artworks
  • Properly label each work: Artist (when known), Title, Date, Original Location, Materials, Size, Present Location
  • For each piece write a description of the work. Color, line, shape, balance,contrast, size, perspective.
  • Consider and write about the following questions: How does arts’ purpose develop over time? How do artists respond to their world?

If you are signed up for AP Computer Science A for next year, and you have not taken Computer Programming or AP Computer Science Principles at Perkiomen, please email Ms. Rodgers (arodgers@perkiomen.org) to explain what other experience you have to skip the prerequisites. Otherwise, email Mr. Moser to switch into one of those classes!
