Using NoodleTools with Library Databases

NoodleTools and research databases are a great match. Since library databases provide citations for the sources they contain, you can easily import or copy citations right into your list of sources in NoodleTools.

  1. Use Global Issues in Context to search for current issues facing your country.
  2. When you find an article that might be useful, export the citation to your project in NoodleTools.
  3. Find an important passage in the article - something that explains the issue, or why it is so critical right now.
  4. Create a notecard in NoodleTools for the important passage you found from your article. Paste the passage, explain it to yourself (paraphrase), and enter any questions or thoughts you have about it (my ideas). Make sure the notecard is linked to the source (cite before you write)!
  5. Repeat steps 1-4 using CultureGrams, Issues & Controversies, or another database from this page. You might need to copy and paste the citations you find rather than export them.

Using NoodleTools to Cite a Book

You can easily import citations for books into NoodleTools. To do so, NoodleTools uses data from WorldCat, which is an online database cataloging books from many, many libraries. See the short video below for instructions.
